invisaWear{ER} Spotlight: Mandy Grayum

We receive messages all the time from our customers about how invisaWear gives them peace of mind and how thankful they are for the added layer of security. We're casting a spotlight on some of our invisaWear customers through our invisaWear{ER} series. The series will share some of our customer's personal stories with the hope that they might help others going through a similar situation. Recently invisaWear customer, Mandy Grayum, detailed a touching story about an abusive relationship she was in. We are so thankful that invisaWear is giving Mandy an added sense of security.

He pushed me into the bedroom, picked me up, and threw onto the bed. He jumped on top of me and I immediately felt my heart sink thinking I was about to be violated against my will.

A Car Crash We'll Never Forget

It was a casual Friday morning when Jenelle Valdina was simply driving in her car on her way to work. Suddenly Jenelle lost control of her car as it went over a patch of black ice and spun out into the guardrail on the side of the highway. Her legs were severely injured as she lay on the ground in excruciating pain. Thankfully witnesses nearby had stopped to make sure she was okay, but to their surprise they could not get a signal on their phone to call 9-1-1.

"Please God, don't die" Jenelle thought to herself as she lay there realizing her phone was nowhere to be found in the crash.

A Message From Our CEO

When I was a little girl, my mom would always cry whenever something good happened. I never really understood it. Why in the world is she crying if she’s happy? Don’t people only cry when they’re sad? Tears of happiness were not something I ever understood at such a young age.

Fast-forward many years later, I get a phone call from one of the invisaWear team members who tells me that we just saved our first life.

How It All Began...

It seemed like a normal Thursday evening. I was at an awards ceremony with a few friends and classmates and before I knew it, it was around 9 pm. Tired from working all day I decided it was time for me to head home. I thought about asking a friend to walk with me to my car, but I was parked less than a block away and we were in an area that seemed fairly safe. Not wanting to bother anyone, I decided I’d be fine walking alone back to my car. I told myself that I was just being paranoid because I watch the news and 20/20 way too much...I was wrong.
