Why We Created invisaWear - Our Founder Rajia's Story

Why We Created invisaWear® - Our Founder Rajia's Story

invisaWear creates safety devices that are disguised as everyday accessories. They look like necklaces, bracelets, keychains, fitness bands, and even scrunchies. They each have a button hidden on the back-side. If you double press the button, it instantly texts five pre-selected emergency contacts to let them know you need help, it shares your location, and it can also optionally contact 9-1-1.

I never meant to start a company, it all started by complete accident after a scary situation I had...

Now more than ever we need to make our health a priority. Many of us are working from home for the foreseeable future and, although we may feel the need to watch the news all day, we need to prioritize our health and ensure we’re doing everything we can to stay healthy, both physically and mentally. We asked our co-founders Rajia and Ray to share what they’ve been doing to prioritize their own health during this difficult time.

Time to Stop Tolerating Inappropriate Behavior

invisaWear® - Time to Stop Tolerating Inappropriate Behavior

***PSA: Just because you’re not affected by a problem, doesn’t mean that it doesn’t exist ***

My co-founder, Ray, and I were recently asked to participate in a shark tank style pitch competition from a local organization. To our surprise some of the judges in the male dominated panel (*eye-roll*) unfortunately made comments that were so ignorant and inappropriate that we felt the need to share it to help raise awareness that this type of behavior should no longer be tolerated.

“Sometimes, someone comes into your life, so unexpectedly, takes your heart by surprise, and changes your life forever.”

A Message From Our CEO

Message From Our CEO

When I was a little girl, my mom would always cry whenever something good happened. I never really understood it. Why in the world is she crying if she’s happy? Don’t people only cry when they’re sad? Tears of happiness were not something I ever understood at such a young age.

Fast-forward many years later, I get a phone call from one of the invisaWear team members who tells me that we just saved our first life.

How It All Began...

invisaWear - Beginning...

It seemed like a normal Thursday evening. I was at an awards ceremony with a few friends and classmates and before I knew it, it was around 9 pm. Tired from working all day I decided it was time for me to head home. I thought about asking a friend to walk with me to my car, but I was parked less than a block away and we were in an area that seemed fairly safe. Not wanting to bother anyone, I decided I’d be fine walking alone back to my car. I told myself that I was just being paranoid because I watch the news and 20/20 way too much...I was wrong.
