Rajia & Ray started working on invisaWear when they were only 21 years old. It all started when Rajia had a scary situation where she was followed by a group of guys while walking back to her car. After getting home safely, she searched for safety devices to protect herself and her loved ones - all she could find was big, ugly, panic buttons that not even her 80 year old grandmother wanted to wear. Rajia and Ray felt passionate and determined to create safety devices for women that would be discreet, easily accessible, and contain features that allow you to be proactive about your safety.
Having just graduated college, their journey wasn't without challenges - they declined multiple job opportunities with prestegious company so that they could fully dedicate themselves to invisaWear. They sunk all their savings (which they acquired working multiple jobs in college) directly back into the company. At one point they couldn't even afford a $20 pizza because they were putting every penny they had back into the business. They believed that if their product could save even one person's life, then all these sacrifices would be well worth it.
Fast forward years later, all these sacrifices proved to be beyond worth it. Shortly after launching, invisaWear made national headlines for saving a young woman's life. invisaWear garnered media recongigation from some of the most respected publications in the country including Good Morning America, TODAY, ABC News, CBS, FOX, and more! As invisaWear entered year two on the market, we proudly emerged as the industry leader in the personal safety space and went on to sign a deal with ADT, the most respected name in the safety industry! Years later, we've expanded outside the U.S. to bring our innovative safety tech to Canada, through our partnership with the incredible team at TELUS who's working to create a friendlier future.
